Yamaha Gas Golf Cart runs but only goes about 2 mph. What is wrong? Details below?
I have a Yamaha Gas Golf that runs but only goes 1 mph. In neutral you can have the gas pedal press half way and it runs a little faster but its in neutral. When it passes the half mark, it just slows back down. In drive it goes slow. roughly 2 mph. very slow, but will go. i just replaced the gas pump and gas goes into the engine. The engine shows 150 pounds of compression. So what's wrong?

It is a white golf cart, gas operated. I don't know what year it is because it was given to me and I need to do some work on it. I would like to know the year and some other information.

The solution to people stealing shopping cars is to do what they do in Europe: In order to get one at the store you have to put a Euro into a box attached the cart, which you get back when you return it. At the very least, you could get people returning abandoned carts that are off premises back to the store to get the deposit back, and thus they'll be some reward for getting them off the street.Unless you place guards at the exits to the parking lot at a place like Costco, you're never going to prevent people from stealing carts. Only if you make it cost them something will they think twice. You certainly won't prevent everyone from stealing them, but discouraging a few will keep more off the streets.
