Voltage Regulator Part 1988 Toyota Corolla FX 1.6 4ALC cold idle problem. I'm Stationed in Turkey PLEASE HELP!!?
My car has been giving me a hell of a time over here. It all started when the voltage regulator went out. Parts are hard to come by here. One of the mechanice rigged up some new regulator, and it charges now. But at the same time the regulator went out, it stopped idleing. After the car has been warmed up will it idle. But before then it surges at low RPM and will not idle. Would the voltage regulator have anything to do with this. Like i said it runs and idles fine after warmup and sometimes its fine when engine is cold. Can anyone point me in the direction to start troubleshooting this issue? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
No 1 t ake off your carburator ,clean it .If that dont work, go to a carburator exchange and change it .Check also if your auto idling is electronic or not ,check for power to the auto idling Otherwise install an auto idling that is not electronic
