I want to preserve my journal pages. How do I do that?
I have several journals I wish to preserve from the immediate threat of water damage and, if possible, prolong the inevitable process of aging.
The entries are written in various mediums: gel ink, permanent markers, water-based inks and of course, pencil (#2 and #3 leads). What is the safest method available that will keep the entries from fading?
Lamination is a great first choice and should be done immediately.
After lamination keep them in a cool dry place in a ziploc bag.
Then keep all the ziplock bags in a rubbermaid tote.
Moisture and sunlight will be the biggest threats so keep them out of damp basements and avoid keeping them out in sunny rooms.
