Golf Cart Voltage Reducer Wiring
install a 12v stereo in a 36v golf cart. How do you wire it without a voltage reducer.?
Kb is right, the golf batteries are connected that way to have a total potential of 36V, To power the radio connect the positive wire to the positive battery terminal of just a single battery, and the negative to the negative battery terminal of the same battery. For the switchable source wire connect it to the accessory wire of the golf car with 12V, if not connect it to the same positive terminal but this way, the radio would turn on at all times.
New info the batteries are 6.6v each, so wire the radio like this:
