how do you wire a car stereo to a 36 volt golf cart?
Yes
Make sure that you do NOT ground the stereo or speaker wires to the golf cart. Would be bad, very bad....
If the cart has triple 12V batteries, you can just wire the stereo to run off one of the batteries.
If the cart has six 6V batteries (seems to be common), wire the stereo to run off two batteries in series. Note: these two need to also be next to each other in series for the golf cart's six in series.
If the cart has 18V or 36V batteries, you'll need some sort of voltage reducer. Probably the easiest is a resistor network and a voltage regulator, though not very efficient.
