how much paint do I need for a base coat on a golf cart body?
would a quart be enough? using a small spray gun
I'm thinking of buying autoair paint
Buy 2 qts. Make sure to do a good coat with primer and sand it smooth. Never heard of Autoair paint. That said, generally off-brand cheaper paints do not cover as well as the name brands. So be aware of that. Size of the gun isn't really relevant. Spray pattern, quality of paint, good priming, even coverage, etc, are important. A small gun just means less output, more work for you, and much harder to get a good coat. I'm picturing the difference between a touch up gun, which I would consider a small gun, and a regular hvlp gun, which I would use.
And make sure to clean you gun when you're done...

How to get paint off of Fiberglass bodies of Golf Carts?
Someone I know made a mistake and started to use glass chalk on Gold Carts with what I'm pretty sure to be Fiberglass bodies. Any idea how to fix it with out making a total mess or spending huge amounts of money...
sand it down with a fine grit sand paper, somewhere in the 800's or go to the home depot, and go to the paint isle and get this chemical called " krud cutter " the stuff works like majic. just let it sit, and it will take paint off from walls. all it needs to stay for is like 30 seconds to go deep down. for that job ide let it stay for about 15 seconds.

ps. the gallon bottles are a good deal too. lasts you a long time
