Science/alternative energy question?
A homework problem:
i want to start a company that installs wind power generators on electric golf carts. When the cart moves, air will push through the wind turbine and produce electricity to move the car which then produces more energy and so on. what will happen to this system over time if you manage to get it started initially? Why?
Here's the problem with that: thermodynamics. Basically, putting a windmill on a moving object will create drag. That drag will mean increased work for the electric motor to maintain the same speed. More work for the electric motor means more energy used, and you've just basically canceled out the benefit of generating electricity with the windmill. At best you're going to come out even but in the real world you'll actually use more electricity and run down the battery faster due to inefficiencies in the windmill.

I have a Ingersoll Rand club car electric golf cart. how can i make it go faster without buying anything?
i recently bought brand new batteries so it lasts longer but i want it to go faster. i heard about something called the governer. If anyone knows what to do and how to do it, let me know.
if you can find the governer all you have to do is break it but im not sure the electric ones have one so you will have to find out but if you do find it you have to bend the bar back and then make it hold in that position.. there is one other way but im not sure how to but all i know in that you need a wrench and you have to loosen something
