Do electric cars already exist and are they in use?

Do we believe media specials that say that big Oil bought and shelved the concept?

We also have electric golf cart, electric lawn mowers, electric grass trimmers but people use gas for convenience.

It's a crazy conspiracy theory. Pure electric cars just don't work. They suck, no one shelved the design because of greedy big oil, electrics just don't have the balls to get the job done on American highways. Gas/electric hybrids work great though.

  • I read this while standing on line at Whole Foods today… Bad move, I was laughing so hard that I must have looked like a total lune. Thank goodness I had a phone in front of my face, in NY that automatically bumps up your sanity points.
I used to work at a ranch in Truckee that used electric golf carts to transport goods (i.e. manure). The gas pedals stuck religiously, so you had to develop a talent for lifting the gas pedal up with one hand, while steering with the other and braking with your foot. One time I was backing up and forgot about the sticky gas pedal, and backed right in to a pipe pen. With a horse in it. FYI, you can move pipe fencing with an electric golf cart. Luckily no one was injured, but the horse was really confused as to why his stall had shrunk in size so much. After reading this entry I no longer feel so bad about this mishap; and I also think that crashing a small vehicle in to a random, inanimate object is a right-of-passage.

A crane is a lifting machine, generally equipped with a winder (also called a wire rope drum), wire ropes or chains and sheaves, that can be used both to lift and lower materials and to move them horizontally. It uses one or more simple machines to create mechanical advantage and thus move loads beyond the normal capability of a human. Cranes are commonly employed in the transport industry for the loading and unloading of freight, in the construction industry for the movement of materials and in the manufacturing industry for the assembling of heavy equipment.
